FAQ’S

Q: HOW MUCH DOES A VOICE OVER COST?

A: The cost of a voice over depends on the size of the project and where the project is going to be used. A narration for an in-house company presentation will cost far less than a national commercial. To give you a general idea, I usually charge $50 for one company phone message. An e-learning course consisting of 60 edited recorded minutes can cost over $1000. For a price quote, please email to ted@tedlernervoiceovers.com . You’ll get a reply usually within a few hours.

Q: HOW LONG DOES IT TAKE TO RECEIVE MY VOICE OVER?

A: If it’s a short script of :30 seconds or a few minutes, you can expect to get the finished product back within a few hours. Obviously longer and more complicated scripts will take more time. Generally I work fast and am very good at meeting  deadlines.

Q: HOW DO I RECEIVE MY VOICE OVER AND HOW DO YOU GET PAID?

A: All voice overs require a 50% down payment before I start recording. Payment methods we accept are Paypal, US bank deposit, Philippine bank deposit, wire transfer, etc.

Once the down payment is received, the production on your script will begin. When the voice over is completely finished, you will receive your recorded file via email, ftp upload, Dropbox upload, etc.  However, this version will have one or more watermarks  in the body of the recording(usually a half a second tone or beep).  There is nothing to fear with this watermark. We have kept an original version of the finished product  without the watermark.  Once you approve  the finished product, the balance of the payment is due. Once final payment is received, you will be sent the final version minus the watermarks.

Q: CAN’T YOU JUST SEND THE FINISHED VERSION OF THE FILE WITHOUT THE WATERMARK?

A: As much as I love all of my clients, until we establish a working relationship, this is a strict policy.

Q: WHAT FORMAT DO YOU SEND THE FILES IN?

A: You will receive the file in the format of your choice; mp3, wav, etc.  It’s up to you.

Q: CAN THE CLIENT GIVE DIRECTIONS AND SUGGESTIONS ON HOW TO READ THE SCRIPT?

A: Absolutely.  I am here to make you sure you are 100% satisfied with the final product. Before I go full bore into your project, I will send you several sample reads so you can choose which one you like best. We can talk over the phone, Skype or chat.  If you want to listen to me record live, I’m available on Skype so you can direct me WHILE I’M RECORDING.

Q: WILL YOU DO REVISIONS IF WE WANT SOME CHANGES?

A: Yes! I am happy to do revisions to make sure you are fully satisfied with the final product. Of course everything in this world has limits and I can’t do endless revisions. However, I am easy to work with and my number one goal is to make you happy. So if you want a change in the read, the tone, or you wanted to add a few words, it won’t be a problem.

Q: CAN YOU ADD MUSIC AND SOUND EFFECTS TO MY RECORDING?

A: Yes I can add music and sound effects.  However, I don’t do highly complicated productions. But background music and sound effects can be done for an extra cost and they will sound great. I have a large collection of sound effects and I’m sure I can find some that fit your project.

Q: IS THERE ANYTHING ELSE WE NEED TO KNOW?

A: I am extremely easy to work with and I will go the extra two miles to make sure that you are absolutely 100% satisfied with the voice over recording I provide you.  You can feel super confident that you’ve come to the right place  for all your voice over needs.
